Genesis: Beginnings

1 Samuel: Monarchy

The Lord announced, "I will also spurn Judah, just as I spurned Israel. I will reject this city that I chose—both Jerusalem and the temple, about which I said, “I will live there."  2 Kings 23:27

Ezra: Restoration

Temple (1-6)
Law (7-10)

Now Ezra had dedicated himself to the study of the law of the Lord, to its observance, and to teaching its statutes and judgments in Israel.  Ezra 7:10

Nehemiah: Wall

Reconstruction of the Walls (1-7)
Restoration of the People (8-13)

So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in just fifty-two days. When all our enemies heard and all the nations who were around us saw this, they were greatly disheartened. They knew that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.  Nehemiah 6:15-16

Matthew

He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"  Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."  Matthew 16:15-16

 

Being in God's word daily makes all the difference in every area of my life.  Relationships at home and at work are much improved.  By spending time in the word I become aware of God's purpose for my life.  I am living life with a purpose b/c of my commitment to spend time with Him daily.
